The Brickyard at Riverside Golf Club was established to provide a championship golf challenge nestled within the changing terrain of the Peidmont Plateau area of Georgia. The vistas create peaceful and calming reminders of the North Georgia Mountains. Fairways are framed with old, towering oaks and pines; azaleas, native grasses, and large rock formations enhance the natural beauty of winding fairways. Although the golf course was constructed in 1961, it was redesigned by tour professional Mark McCumber in 2005. From the championship tees, the course measures 7,128 yards and has a slope of 140. Mark McCumber's goal was to create eighteen unique holes each of which could arguably be considered "signature holes." Attention to detail and utilization of the natural features of the land allowed him to create his own "masterpiece." Four of the first five holes are "power hitter" holes; the next three holes require finesse and the last nine holes blend power and finesse. The Brickyard at Riverside has been described by players as a golf course where every golf club is used during the round. Along with the course itself, The Brickyard at Riverside was ranked by Golf Digest as the #12 best course in the state of Georgia. The Brickyard at Riverside has played host to the GSGA’s men’s 4-Ball Championship, the Brickyard Ladies Invitational, and the Men’s Brickyard Invitational. The Brickyard at Riverside seeks to provide the ultimate golfing experience. |
