2008 Champions Twitter In cooperation with The Brickyard at Riverside, Mercer University will host the 3rd Annual Brickyard Collegiate Golf Championship October 9-12 at The Brickyard at Riverside. The Brickyard at Riverside features a par-72, 7,128-yard layout designed by former tour pro Mark McCumber. In 2007, Golf Digest ranked the course No. 12 in the state of Georgia. In only two years of the tournaments exsistence, the tournament has gained prestige and is widely recognized as one of the best college golf tournaments in the country.

In the first two years the University of Georgia has dominated the field winning the team title in back-to-back years. In the 2008 tournament, the individual title was taken by Georgia Tech's Cameron Tringale who shot a one over par 271.

The tournament opens Friday with a practice round.  The competition will begin Saturday morning and conclude Monday afternoon. A total of 15 teams will participate in the 54-hole tournament. The teams include: Augusta State, Chattanooga, Charlotte, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisiana State, Mercer, Michigan, Mississippi, North Florida, Penn State, Virgina Commonwealth, and Virginia Tech.
