Georgia Tech Wins 2011 Brickyard Collegiate by 17 Strokes MACON, Ga. – The Georgia Tech men’s golf team spent Sunday putting the finishing touches on an impressive showing at the 2011 Brickyard Collegiate Golf Championship. The Yellow Jackets’ final round total of 283 gave the team a tournament score of 848, outpacing the next closest team by 17 strokes. Georgia Tech’s 848 was 16 strokes under par and marked the best team score since Georgia posted a three-round total of 831 in 2007. Florida State (865) took a second place finish and also fielded the individual champion, senior Brooks Koepka. Koepka booked scores of 66, 70, and 69 in three rounds of competition to finish four strokes ahead of Georgia Tech’s Seth Reeves and Anders Albertson. North Florida (868) took third place while Georgia (872) and Virginia Tech (881) rounded out the top-five teams. Chattanooga (885) and Texas-Arlington finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Mercer’s 890 equaled the effort of Oklahoma and helped the Bears finish in front of Mississippi (892), Colorado State (894), Augusta State (896), the College of Charleston (898), Gonzaga (912) and Air Force (914).
